After corresponding with Patrick Burke, I have decided to get the ball
moving on development a sample Torch & Trefoil Online edition for the Fall
1996 issue. I believe it would be a great service to the fraternity to
get the issues on-line, however, I would very much appreciate some help on
producing a professionally looking homepage sequence. I have plenty of
WWW space to store the pages and pictures.
Areas that you could help with:
1) I have already scanned the text of T&T using wordscan, but the
conversion to text is far from perfect. I could use some help with
editing the text files I have created to match T&T using any text editor
program.
2) I have already scanned the B&W pictures contained in T&T to bmp files.
I could use some help converting these to gif or jpg (whichever is
better), so that they will load and look good on homepage. Patrick Burke
is mailing me color photos that I will scan at a later date.
3) Ideas Ideas Ideas... Any suggestions on how layout should look? I'm
not a big fan of frames, however, it may be nice to have a frames version
and a non-frames version. Layouts such as CNN, USATODAY, ESPN may be good
references.
4) HTML coding for layout... This overlaps with number 3. Help would
certainly be appreciated.
If interested in helping, please let me know. I will let you know where
scanned documents/images are and we can work on method to get modified
version back to me.
I am bogged down with work and school right now, but I plan to get this up
by the end of November (without help) or sooner (with help).
Thanks,
Liston
