Where does anything say that our principles are the Scout Oath and Law?
The pledge ceremony makes reference to "those who are guided by the
princicples of the Scout Oath and Law"; but even the wording (and I have
a 1991 ritual book that I read from) from before refers to the "fellowship
of the principles of the Boy Scouts of America as embodied in its Scout
Oath and Law" but doesn't say that they're ours. I reiterate: they are
not ours.
As for the article several years back - well, that was several years back,
before these changes were made; same holds for that painting to which you
refer, it is not recent, either. I would hope that there would be no
dispute that we used to be a much heavier BSA-associated Fraternity - but
as for today, it doesn't hold true.
