Brothers,
I did not mean to imply that voting delegates should just toss their chapters'
opinions out the window. I specifically meant only those unusual situations when
a chapter tells its delegate how to vote based on certain reasons, and then a
delegate learns some new information that was not available at the time the
chapter debated the legislations, or when the legislation is significantly
rewritten.
Also, as far as the co-ed issue, I have heard from some of our more senior
staffers that we DID need to go co-ed so that the fraternity could survive on
many campuses. While the fraternity may or may not have been at risk of going
under as a National, a number of campus charters were at stake.
