Discrimination is an ugly word that has taken on a bad connotation.
Remember that we used to be an all-male fraternity, and the 1976 Convention
voted to allow those that wanted to change that ability.
That being said, there isn't anything in the bylaws which states that a
chapter can't choose to remain as the Fraternity as a whole once was, at
least in this respect.
My objection is not on the basis of anything but the compromise (promise)
that was reached at the 1976 convention. We're bound by that promise. I do
object to forcing a chapter to change their ways on the basis of political
correctness, but I'm that's not my formal objection.
