Here's something that I've been wondering.........

If there are chapters out there that can discriminate based upon
gender, which is something that cannot be prevented (is it's a born
characteristic), what is to say that along those same lines of
discrimination based upon a birth characteristic that any chapter who
decided that they want to can discriminate against people who are born
with a disability?? I always thought that APO was a co-ed service
fraternity that admitted any one who sufficiently completed a qualified
pledging program. I thought we admitted people (and I keep using the term
people to include all people regardless of race, creed, gender, etc) who
also support service and the ideals of leadership, friendship, as well as
with the ability to be a leader, be a friend and be of service.
Here's another question I have: As a non-profit organization, why
isn't the disclaimer that says something to the effect of "We do not
discriminate based upon gender, creed, race, physical abilities..." (you
know the typical disclaimer that is always written with admission policy
type things) listed in our bylaws/articles of association? I know the
wording isn't right but it's close. If you don't know which disclaimer I
am talking about, I know it is listed in most of the college
handbooks/course catalogs/admission applications, etc.

know a lot more than given credit for. I grew up only a few miles away
from Gettysburg and my brother (sibling) is a history major with the
emphasis in the civil war so believe me when I say I've been inundated
with the civil war :):).
