We have heard several things about all male chapters & little sister
programs. We have NOT heard anything from anyone who has ever been
a little sister, so I'll offer my input (although I was not an APO
little sis.)

1. My freshman year, I was a Delta Chi little sis. One of my
favorite brothers there (Frank) was also an APO brother (knowing this
was one of the things that we had to know to get his signature, we
even had to know his office). I knew full well going into it that I wouldn't
be a full brother there and the boundaries of my membership. I accepted
this & life was ok. Had I not accepted this, I would not have become
a little sis...

2. Second semester freshman year, I pledged APO. Being Frank's
brother was infinitely better than being his little sister.

Would I have wanted to be a Delta Chi brother? NO
Would I have been a little sis if I would have rather been a brother? NO

What it boils down to is that it was my CHOICE to become a little
sis - just like the Delta chapter little sises have the CHOICE to
join. If they don't want to, they don't have to.

Should we force these chapters to go co-ed? Consider the following:

When each of these men pledged, they pledged with the basic knowledge
that it was an all-male organization on their campus. When most of
the rest of us pledged, we pledged with the knowledge that it was
co-ed. Now, we want to force these chapters to go co-ed. What if
they wanted to force your chapter to split into a male APO & female
APO chapter? What if single sex chapters were in the majority
instead of the minority?

One question for the chapters with little sis programs: are your
little sises allowed to wear letters?
