Generally, I have subscribed to the principle, as all brothers should, that
service is voluntary. But having been in two chapters that held projects
that required significant participation (and therefore required a minimum
amount of service hours), I understand the need for a service hour requirement.
I don't believe such a requirement should be made for the whole fraternity.
Each chapter has its own projects; its own way of doing things. Some
chapters have little trouble getting the needed participants, others
struggle. In this area, "one size fits all" does not work.
