With all this discussion about a CPPC going on, thought I'd add my
comments. When we held our CPPC last year, it had been the first one in a
few terms. Most brothers who were active at the time had never attended a
CPPC before. Thus, we were left with how to run one effectively and
efficiently. As President at that time, I decided to be the main
facilitator for the event. Things ran smoothly at times. They were also
rough too. When things started to drag on, our advisors who were
present took over facilitating. From that point out, things ran
smoothly the rest of the way. In light of that, I have the suggestion
to utilize your advisors if they are present. Rather than have one
person, such as the President facilitate things, have the advisors do
it. That way, you can be more involved in the discussion rather than
trying to get things to move along. All in all, we spent 7-8 hours getting
through everything. The end result was a good one. We realized areas we
were lacking in and how we needed to improve, while at the same time
realizing our strong points. We also set goals for the next 6 months as we
planned on having a CPPC every 6 months to go along with the changing of
officers every 6 months too. I believe we have met most of our goals. Our
next CPPC is in a few weeks. At that point, we'll see exactly how well
we've met our goals. Just my .02
