As far as I understand it, the only way someone can loose their
brotherhood is at a National Convention by a vote of the delegates.  I
would assume this carries over into the life membership arena.  I do not
believe this has ever been done.  I imagine you would have to do something
pretty darn awful and damaging to the fraternity as a whole to have your
membership revoked.

Individual chapters can, however, set their own guidelines for active
membership provided it does not conflict with National bylaws.

Once a brother... always a brother... :-)
