An important thing to think about is what exactly were they laughing
about? I doubt that your brothers would have been doing such an activitiy
if they knew that you were choking. I don't know the entire situation,
but I know that on some occasions at apo functions, we will have some
juice or something, be talking, start laughing, and I've choked on some
juice and caughed and had a hard time catching my breath. They went on
laughing because they thought I had choked laughing which clears up
because it's liquid in the lungs. Other than that, I would also recommend
that you confront those individuals in a nonconfrontational manor and talk
to them about you concerns. I have learned that there comes a point when
you have tried everything you can to get along with someone, but it still
does not work out. That's when you put it to a professional level, working
with them only and not going so far out of your way to be a friend,
instead letting them come around to you when they want to if ever. Then,
you apreciate those people in your chapter who do like you and you do get
along with. Build on those friendships and hope that it spreads. I think
we all know that in our world, it is impossible to live a socialistic
idealism, thinking taht all people will love all people. There is just
some people out there that don't want to get along. Good luck and I hope
your situation is resolved.
