Just a polite add on to this...That is exactly why my chapter instituted
the "Code of Conduct and Judicial Procedures" supplement to their
bylaws.  It's so problems (hopefully) would get solved between the group
of members having the problem and not get blown out of proportion
publicly first.  That's why it suggests going to the member(s) with the
problem first, then up the officer chain next, then onto a possible
hearing/trial.  Hopefully all problems get caught and deflated first
before they even get to the higher up officers.  So far, it's worked
quite well as far as I know.

Most of the time, once you get to discussing a problem, the more you
realize that it's not much of a problem to begin with.
