Cub Scouts (don't remember when)
Webelos (don't remember when, achieved Arrow of Light)
Boy Scouts (1984-1988, 4 years total, started late, achieved Eagle)
I dropped out past that point, but promised to become an adult leader
when I have eligible children.
When I was a Boy Scout, I knew nothing of Alpha Phi Omega. I never made
it to any Jamborees or other activities outside of Summer Camp. My
troop was quite braindead and didn't relay any info to us. I only found
out about APhiO when my wife (then my girlfriend), MaryGrace, went to
Philmont as a camp counselor in the Summer of 1991 and came back with
the idea to start a chapter at Frostburg (now Alpha Gamma Chi). My
troop, BTW, died the same year that I left it. Not to toot my own horn
or anything, but I was the last remaining spark of life that troop ever
had. It was #211 out of Bethesda, MD.
