Greetings brothers.
I am a member of the Alpha Phi chapter at Washington University. I was
also dissapointed in the language used to discuss the scouting issue.
While I am not gay, it really shouldn't matter. What matters in this
fraternity is that we all share a common bond: a desire to participate in
service and better the world we live in. While I have found most of the
discussion on APO-L to be informative, I find this one to be particularly
insulting. I agree with Gail and am gald that she spoke up as well. It
should not be our policy to divide and create friction amongst ourselves.
If anything we are role models for the rest of the community and should
act accordingly. I am proud to be a part of this organization and believe
in its cardinal principles. However, the insensitivity of members points
out just how much room we all have for improving ourselves and the example
we set.

In leadership, fellowship, and service,
Kim
