Hey y'all
In response to a statement made about getting together prior to a term
and talking, this is something ZD (Miami U.) has been doing for a number of
semesters now. Over the summer we have a picnic in Oxford, home of M.U., and
after the picnic we have an Exec metting. We then all have the opportunity to
sit down, get to know one another, and talk about plans for our positions.
Then, after the start of each semester before our first chapter meeting, we
have Exec Overnight. We all go out to dinner, hang out, shop, and then have an
exec meeting starting around 10 p.m. This is usually held at a hotel, where we
stay the rest of the night, and head back to school the next morning. My one
recommendation: take into consideration the size of your exec board and how you
plan things, because you want to include everyone on exec. With ours around
25, we plan carefully and in advance these types of activities and have some
fun with them.
