Well, here's the post I sent to kappa-alumni, with minor updates.
Greetings, this is your neighborhood Kappa Chapter Alumni Relations
Coordinator. I thought I'd let everybody know what we have planned for
the Alumni this weekend at Carnival. First off, we have a room for the
Alumni to gather in during the day on Friday and Saturday. It is
officially reserved from 8am-6pm, but I have a feeling that we can hold
on to it much longer. The room is 1511 Hamburg Hall, right across
Forbes from the west end of Midway. We will be providing the following
services:
1) A large blackboard for messages, and possibly a small whiteboard as well
2) Hot drinks in the morning for those of you coming over in the hour
between Buggy and the opening of Midway, and possibly all day, weather
determining, plus OJ and soda
3) A supply of popcorn and pretzels, and bagels for the breakfast crew
4) A guest book to let everyone know that you're here, and to let other
Alumni know anything special that has happened (promotion, children,
marriage, etc.)
5) Recent Chapter history, and directions to the new office (and a
description, as it will be locked if no brothers are there)
6) A drop box for submissions to Lobster Tales, the newsletter Kappa
sends to the Alumni. I highly recommend putting in a submission. It
can be anything, from old war stories, commentaries on where APhiO is
going, art, etc.
Also, we will have a whiteboard at the concessions booth for Alumni use only.
In addition to this, there is an official Alumni shift from 2:15 to 4:15
on Friday afternoon. It is a great time to catch up with old friends,
and meet up with fellow Alumni that you may never have met before. Jen
Rode, who is to be the inducted as the new Alumni Relations Coordinator
in a few weeks, will be the shift manager. Thanks, and have a great
(although possibly frozen) Carnival!
