I wrote to this list a couple of weeks ago asking for information about
Alpha Phi Omega and creating a chapter on campus. I would first like to take
this chance to thank everyone that sent information to us.

The main reason I haven't written earlier is because of the problem we have
to address now. From a couple of sources of information we found out that
there was another person beginning the same organization on campus.

After a phone call we decided that it would be best if we worked with our
other half to start this organization together. The people leading both
halves of the URI APO group met the same day and the other group concurred
that it would bring about a stronger organization if we worked together.

Once the information package came from the national organization on starting
a chapter arrived, the other group, who originally found out about this
package and asked for it, would contact us so we could begin work on
starting APO. After these two weeks, we were never contacted and found out
that the other group had gone on ahead of us, thereby shunning us from the
organization.

Their group is now called Students for Service, probably a prelude to
calling themselves APO as soon as they're recognized. Our group is feeling
left out of it all and would still like to be a part of your organization.
What should we do?

simply isn't a mirror big enough.
