When I was at Miss. State (Epsilon Iota Chapter) one thing we did was
"Ugliest Man On Campus" contest. As I recall this is how it worked:
Different groups would "sponsor" a guy as a "contestant". Either the
group provided an 8x10 pix or we would take one. (We usually took all
the photos and did BW prints rather than color since I had access to BW
darkroom & supplies.) These pix were on display with "ID numbers" by
each one for a week or two. People "voted" for the "UGLIEST ..." by
donating money to the chapter using the "one dollar = 1 vote" concept.
We then would have the "winner's" pix published in the school paper and
award some "token prizes" to the top three. When the "winner" was
announced in the paper we also included info about our service projects,
etc.
