Joel,
You don't say what you normally do, but a brilliant suggestion I
heard at Nationals was a Topless Car Wash. You do the sides of the car
for free, but then you charge for the hood, trunk, and windows to be
washed.
Another idea is a little more trouble for us, but it is an ongoing
fundraiser for the year. A grocery store in the Atlanta area has
"Commitment cards", where a swipe of this card will do nothing to the
person's grocery bill, BUT that organization gets 5% of the receipt.
Ex: A brother goes into the supermarket for a rush event. The total is
$90. By swiping this card, $4.50, or 5% of the receipt is now donated to
your chapter.
The only work with that one: handing out all those cards and
reminding people to use the card to help out the chapter.
