Howdy!
Packy here--I haven't been active on the list for a while, but I'm sure
many of the older guard will still remember me.
Anyway, my employer (the NYS Thruway) is sponsoring a bike event to benefit
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) on Sunday, September 28, 1997. The
event will be a non-competitive bike tour starting in the Rockland Lake
State Park, proceeding along Route 9W and crossing the Hudson River on the
Tappan Zee Bridge. The riders will rest at Lyndhurst, a 67-acre gothic
revival estate in Tarrytown, before returning to the State Park via the
same route.
We need volunteers for the event to fill jobs such as: Rest Stop Crew,
Support Vehicle Drivers, Bicycle Marshals, Bicycle Mechanics and Roadside
Monitors. Anyone volunteering would need to be at the site at 7:30am.
If people from the Albany, NY, area (where _I_ live) want to help out, I
can provide transportation, since I'll be volunteering at the event.
Anyone who's interested in volunteering should contact our coordinator for
the event, Meredith Rouse, either by telephone (518/471-4389) or via email
(Rouse-M@exec.nystwy.com).
Yours in Leadership, Friendship and Service,
