Mike,
We had the exact same thing happen with our office space- we all went away
for the summer and voila, when we came back, another campus organization
was sharing our roomy and spacious 10' x 10' office- this is in addition
to the three other organizations who share this space (yes, it is as bad
as it sounds). So, we had a new advisor come on board this year and we
have been working with her to reclaim our office space. Our office is in
the student union so we have been attending all of the board meeting of
the student union as well. As it turns out, some idiot from campus govt.
randomly and illegally assigned this new organization to our office.
The BOD (board of directors of the student union) is aware of this and
hopefully this will all be straightened out before the millenium rolls
around. Basically, my advice to you would be to get your campus advisors
involved and if your office is in the student union, go to the board
meetings and ask to be first on the agenda- get as many members to attend
the board meeting and state your case. Good luck to you-
