Here at the University of Washington, as President, I do my very best to
keep the meetings short and sweet. Maybe politics don't exist in our
chapter, but we have 32 actives and 23 pledges and our average meeting
lasts about 45 min. I target 30 min, and on most occasions can make it.
But, with elections it usually lasts a couple of hours during a hot
debate, and 30 min when people are running un-aposed. I think every
school will be different. A chapter who has a beauracracy running within
it's group will obviously run long meetins whereas a chapter such as ares
where people want to get the project info, office reports, and
announcements your meetins will be very short. I recommend to do what
your members feel is best. As an exec board member, your working for
them, they are your constituents, so I would try to respond as to the best
way possible.
