Ok guys I wanted to try to stay out of this but I have decided to put in
my $.02. As for having to have things as dry to the entire brotherhood,
that is just unreasonable. But also having things that aren't dry is an
entierly different thing, w/the same exact problems. As for how it
affects the BSA, it doesn't. I agree w/alot of other people that AphiO
and BSA are not the same entity and never were. That much at least
one or more brothers have pointed out on this list... Also, Some chapters
do have underage drinking, which yes is illigal, but if the fraternity
does it responsably and doesn't let anyone drive, or they keep it on
campus and get rooms for commuters it should be ok. As for if there is
drinking at a "semi-formal" have it at a hotel where they will also give
everyone a room discount so that noone has to drive. Yes this will drive
up the cost of the "semi-formal" but it means that everyone will at least
be safe. Now I'm not trying to promote drinking here, but I do feel that
it does happen, it will happen, and instead of a forced "stoppage" of it,
accept it and find a way to do it responsably.
