I would not normally post that I am in dire need of a job if this
were not an extreme case.
In the last few days, I was used to run a witch hunt on my best
friend and brother at the company that we both work for. After a very
circus like investigation (lasting all of a few hours) where he was
not allowed to speak on his behalf. He was promptly fired for things
that were circumstantial, and anwers that were totally twisted. Both
of us were made to feel that nothing was amiss, while they basically
ran around behind our backs.
Now two things are happening, first of all I have been labeled a hero
because I was tricked into unwittingly betraying a brother and a
friend, and they are going around behind his back trying to destroy
any friendships that he may still have in the company. They have even
gone so far as the threaten other employees with similar actions if
they continue to hang around with him. The sad fact is that he did
his job and he did it well (even better than me). He was VERY loyal
to the company too.
My problem comes down to this, first of all I am a little worried
that they may come after me next simply to cover their tracks, and
even if this is the case I can not work for a company that would not
only do this to my best friend and brother, but also use me in their
twisted scheme. So if there is anyone out there that may know of any
positions available for someone of my qualifications please let me
know, and give me a hand.
I have a BS in Technical Communications with a focus in computer
administration and social sciences. I have also been a senior
consultant for a multimedia computer lab. This basically consisted of
helping users in applications such as MS word, Word Perfect, Excell,
Lotus 123, Windoze 95, various net mail apps, netscape, and many
other programs, I was also the training coordinator for a bit over a
year, which meant that I trained other consultants. In addition to
all of this I also did trouble shooting on the applications as well
as hard ware maintanence on mac, ibm, and unix systems.
Most recently I have been working as a counselor at a residential
wilderness youth treatment facility for emotionally handicapped
youth, and I have experience as an editor-in-chief at the campus
daily newspaper where I went to college.
I am looking to get back closer to home, which is Michigan. This
would include WI, IL, IN, OH, and MN preferably.
I am also most interested in working at an academic institution in
any of the previous mentioned areas as well as residence life, or
student affairs.
If anyone knows of anything and can help a brother out of a VERY BAD
situation please let me know. I would be more than willing to send a
copy of my resume.
