REMINDER! The first registration deadline for the Inaugural Southern
Regional Conference on Student Community Service is Monday, December 15
(postmark date). To secure this reduced registration fee, you may fax
completed registration forms by December 15 and send the check or money
order at a later date. After December 15, the registration fee increases
by $15 per person.
The Inaugural Southern Regional Conference on Student Community Service
will be held at Rice University in Houston, TX on February 6-8, 1998. An
estimated 400 students from colleges and universities in Texas, Arkansas,
Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi will convene for a weekend of
workshops, presentations and other service related activities. Conference
highlights include Keynote Speaker La-Verna Fountain, Director of Community
Programs for Save the Children, U.S.; an Oxfam Hunger Banquet; Houston
Outreach Activities; an Opportunities Fair; a Multimedia Presentation; and
more.
The conference registration fee of $50.00 (if postmarked by December 15;
$65 from December 16-January 15) includes a Friday night reception, all
meals on Saturday, Sunday breakfast, conference t-shirt, subsidized Houston
Night Out, and general conference activities and materials. Although the
conference is targeted to students in the five previously mentioned states,
anyone is welcome to attend. For more information or to receive a
