Just kidding! This post actually has to do with chapter diversity (cruel
joke, I know)

Okay, had to put in my two cents on this one.
Our chapter (Iota Phi, UC Davis) has constantly tried to increase
our diversity for the past two or three years or so. We are, however, in
a MUCH different position that most other APhiO chapters; our chapter is
80% Asian.
For our Cunningham pledge class, we tried many different things...
fliers, posters, a rush week, even tabling at a community service faire.
All this attracted around 5 or 6 more people that might not have thought
of joining APhiO before.. our pledge classes are usually 50-100 people
though, so the diversity doesn't seem to be too noticable. But it's a
start, I guess.
What has worked best for us was word of mouth, which was how 90%
of our pledges ended up trying out APhiO... in other words, convince
friends that you know that are "ethnically diverse" to try out APhiO, and
to casually tell them to tell their friends. It sounds a little bit sly,
but it works. You might also want to rush by the dorms too...
Hope this helps..
