For those who are interested, from what I understand, Capital went co-ed
largely becuase they were getting very small (something like 7 brothers
with 4 graduating) and they thought that going co-ed would help
save the chapter. This obviously doesn't apply to the large healthy
all-male chapters like Auburn and Clemson.

The only other one I know of that went co-ed is Howard University.
Howard actually shouldn't have been all-male in the first place,
the rechartered in 1986 without any women. In 1990 there were 0
brothers in the chapter and then a male brother transfered from Penn State
and had no pledging program for 2 years. A female Howard student
who went to stanford for a semester and became a brother there
wanted to actually make Howard a working chapter again talked to both
the one active brother and the sectional staff. The male brother decided to
sign the female brother's transfer form and the chapter has since had both
males and females initiate.

In both cases the force to go co-ed has been to save the chapter from dying
for lack of members...

>to share opinions?
Howard doesn't have anyone on apo-l :(
