--Howdy all once again,
This is getting WAY to frequent for my tastes, but ...oh, well.
The letter from Brother Alloy I found quite disturbing. Being from
the same Section as he, we share the same RD. For the past few years,
until this year, the RD has been from our chapter. If it was longer then
three or so years ago, then the RD wasn't from our chapter. Either way,
we have always had, for like the past 5-7 years (I'm no going to bother
looking it up), either a RD or SC as an advisor. We have never had anyone
try and force the same policy on us that was put to FSU. And I for one,
would do everything in my power to prevent it. The day that someone
other than my chapter takes away our ability to decide who becomes a
brother of our chapter and who doesn't, is the day I turn in my pin.
I comiserate whole heartily with FSU's position. But please try
and remember, the active chapters make the final decisions on national
policy and ONLY a particular chapter can make the decision whether or not
someone becomes a Brother of THAT chapter. I would severely challenge
any SC, RD, or any other representative from Nationals who tried to make it
otherwise.
I think I'll step off my soap box now. Thank you...
