Or do you want to be? I too am willing to answer the call of conducting a
Turtleing ceremony at Nationals. FYI, around here and in Region 4 I am known
as the Turtle Queen, but I don't know how many people I can induct since my
time will be restricted as I am on the Nationals committee.
When I went to the Region 4 Regionals I became aware there are different
ways of performing the ceremony. So, (to satisfy my own curiousity and for
others that are curious), if people wanted to write me and tell me all the
different ways of inducting people I would be willing to compile all the
ways. I realize that I will not be able to compile it into one way, since
there is no right way or wrong way to do it, but I would love to try anyway.
This isn't neccessarily an attempt to regulate or conform all the different
ceremonies, rather perhaps a history or handbook.
It was brought to my attention that there are a lot of people more informed
than I am about this subject so if people want to help, I can put together a
"committee" of sorts to put it all together. Anybody interested?
Now in the tradition of the Turtles, all of this needs to be done behind
closed doors, so PLEASE SEND __ALL__ REPLIES PRIVATELY, even if it is just
to say "that is the stupidist idea ever". Believe it or not there are
non-Turtles out there on the list and it would spoil their fun and suprise
if the ceremony was spelled out to them on APO-L. So write to me at the
email address below. Looking forward to seeing all of you at Nationals.
If somebody has already done this, or I am stepping on somebody's toes
please let me know...privately. Sorry for the length of this post.
In Brotherhood,
the Turtle Queen
P.S. David did you send me that stuff, that would be a great place to start.
