APO phillipines uses sister for their female members. I'm not sure if
they went co-ed in a more "orderly" way...
APO Philippines, as far as I know is still split between single-sex
fraternities and sororities - they are not co-ed in the sense of most
of our chapters. There are also some other cultural differences that
I don't fully understand such physical fitness requirements for
membership. This information is based on letters I received from an
APO pen pal about 10 years ago and informal information I've got from
discussing it with other people within APO-US. Perhaps some of our
brothers or sisters from the Philippines on this list could provide
some additional insight. I urge everyone to make a point to meet APO
Philippines members at the convention (and other occasions) - all that
I've met are extremely friendly and interested in our programs.
