Greetings!
I'm sorry.
I recently sent a message to APO-L that was, let me say, unpleasant. Half
of me is saying, yayyyyy, I finally expressed my true feelings, but
unfortunately, the other half of me is saying, ohhhh nooooo, I finally
expressed my true feelings. Simply put, I blew up at you all, and I'm
sorry. I lost my composure. I lost my cool. I lost my head.
I have had a rough day, coping with the NUMEROUS viewpoints that have
lined the walls of my INBOX, most of those viewpoints being conflicting
ones. What I realize now is that my messages were just MORE conflicting
viewpoints for the others to poke holes at. I also realized that I
composed a message while I was angry -- I forgot my own advice on that one.
The whole subject regarding the Toast Song debate simply threw me for a
loop. I wasn't expecting so many people to have so many unique opinions on
the subject. What I was really trying to say previously, I guess, is that I
want people to cooporate a little more regarding this subject. It
doesn't help when there are people out there denying that any problem
exists, when obviously there are a great many people who _DO_ think there
is a problem (both men _&_ women).
The thing is, I really want the Toast Song to be changed (whether it is
re-worded or whether it is added to). Yes, my opinion does differ now from
my previous one. I may have overstepped my bounds by insinuating that the
third verse was a good compromise. It seems that I may have been in
error. Quite frankly, I don't know where I stand anymore. The point is,
it just needs to be changed, and the "True to" proposal may be just as
good, if not better than the "Third verse" proposal. That's something the
voting delegates at Nationals are going to have to decide.
Again, I'm sorry I blew up, and I hope this whole thing blows over
quickly. For those who don't know me, I don't usually express my feelings
on this list. Most often, I try to come up with logical solutions to the
problems. This time, however, people made their feelings known to me, and
it upset me quite a bit. I couldn't handle the logical conflicts of some
peoples' arguments, and essentially, they threw a few curve balls at me.
I hope this helped. Don't kill me. I'm just as human as you all are.
Sincerely yours in Leadership, Friendship, & Service,
Jeremy J. Gagliardi
