Brothers,
In a recent letter brother J. Alloy has made some charges that The BSA is
"anti-woman, anti-homo-sexual, and strongly pro-religion?" This however is
not the case.
The BSA is not anti-woman. First of all there are a lot of woman in scouting.
There are women Scoutmaster's, there are women that are helping councils,
and national offices. There is an organization of the BSA, called Exploring,
which is for men and women.
As for the other two, yes BSA is pro-religion, and is that wrong???? I think
not. Each organization has it's background and it's policies and if you don't
like those policies, then you don't have to join!! But Don't try to ruin it
for the others who are enjoying it as well, Because if it doesn't concern you,
then don't say things that you are guessing that they are. You have to stay out
of other peoples business. It is called respect. I don't go around and tell
every body that the Democrats are bad because they do this and they don't
do that. I don't expect you to say things about other organizations or ideals
that YOU, yourself haven't been around or experienced. As for Anti homosexuals,
Would you want your child to be influenced by person who is a Homosexuals?
I wouldn't, unless I know that the person won't in presence of any child show
or display any Homosexual activities. Or stress homosexuality is a right choice.
Let me pose another question to you would you send a child to a Child Molest
er?and have it on your conscience?
Over all you have to look at what BSA has done in the past and in the future,
I believe that the goal of the Boy Scouts is a commendable one and if there
is any draws backs, that the good definitly out way the bad.
FYI, I am an Eagle scout and have been a Boy Scout for fifteen years, and
I am proud of it!!!
