Just wanted to let people know that I have since "talked" with Doug Whitcomb
and that some of his statements did not come out as he wished. He was a
little perterbed about some other issues. I had that feeling that was the
case and that is why I didn't rail him or attack him personally.

Now about whether our posts directly relate to APO, I would say they do. APO
is a Brotherhood with many different people from different backgrounds, and
I would say some of the most productive APO related events are when people
are sitting around discussing life, politics, or campus issues. It teaches
you how to deal with people. If all we ever dealt with/talked about (in
relation to each other) was service projects and pledges and officers then
we wouldn't learn anything. Everyday life totally affects how APO operates
and how we deal with each other. Learning about different people has a
direct impact on how well a chapter succeeds or fails. I imagine when our
predecessors where arguing over the co-ed issue every sort of arguement
surrounding women came up, not just that impact of women in APO.

Every person who has written me about my post has mentioned tolerance and
acceptance. I feel darn lucky to be in a organization that is very open and
willing to accept all sorts of people. And a little healthy discussion about
certain issues, whether or not they were implicitly APO in nature, never
hurt anybody.

Thanks again for listening.

In Brotherhood,

Kim Harris
