I have a comment on the Ugly Man on Campus idea. I think it's a great
idea, but we aren't allowed to do it at Mu (Indiana U) because the Dean of
Students believes that a student group might use it as a hazing tool. For
example, a fraternity that doesn't care for one of its pledges might force
the poor guy to be the ugly man as a negative statement instead of a
positive one. While I think this is a great project, you might try to get
the university administration involved instead of student groups or check
with your activities office to make sure it's ok to do this fundraiser.
I've seen student groups do something similar with popular professors,
local business people, and university officials at football games, and it
seems to work out well.
