Seems like this is really a question of freedom and the consequences of=20
destroying it...as MIT moves towards a 'command economy' of resource=20
allocation, we'll probably start to see some bad things happen. Dilution =
of=20
character of the dorms, discontent for new residents of the dorms who don=
't fit=20
in and for traditional residents who have less marketing power now, death=
of=20
some frats, homogenization of student body, etc...I guess these aren't ne=
w=20
thoughts, but I think it's accurate to consider the ongoing admin moves a=
s a=20
needless restriction of freedom that will have very real and very strong=20
consequences.
So if dorms want to preserve their rush; great, whatever, sign me up.

Do you think if a parental lawsuit over suicide is victorious they'll shu=
t down=20
that dorm? =20
