While I agree that FSILG rush should be left intact, it makes sense to
have this petition concern dorm rush specifically.  FOC was a decision
made at the highest levels of the MIT administration.  Dorm rush was
eliminated because Orientation decided to increase the number of
academic and structured social events (e.g. orientation group
barrier-breaking) at the same time they shortened the length of
orientation week.

A petiton concerning FSILG rush would be less effective than one
concerning dorm rush because everyone knows that rush is vital to the
life of FSILGs.  Many people do not realize that dorm rush is important
to the dorms; the purpose of this petition is to make people realize
that freshman residence selection is still vital to the MIT experience,
even in the FOC era.
