This message is intended for (1) Undergraduates (2) who live off campus
(3) not in an FSILG.
It is being bcc'd to many lists, as there is as-yet no comprehensive
list of students who live off-campus and not in an FSILG. (the list in
the "To" field, off-campus-undergrads, is intended as a first attempt
to create one).
In addition to not having a mailing list, off-campus students are not
represented in the UA Senate. There is a position, but it has been
vacant for the past several years.
I (Katherine Allen) am running as a write-in candidate to fill the
position.
While in office, I intend to create and open lines of communication
between off-campus students and the UA, as well as to one another.
Since we have no central physical location, it's easy to feel like
you're the only one who doesn't live in a dorm or FSILG -- and there
are issues which only affect commuter students, which I hope to be able
to present to the Senate. If you have ideas for projects which could
benefit off-campus students, I'd love to hear about them ... but first
I need to get elected.
The online voting system appears to have a bug, in that I am apparently
not eligible to vote -- and I suspect this may be the case for many
other off-campus students. But you *can* vote today, in Lobby 10.
Write in Katherine Allen for UA Senate off-campus representative.
