Course II has been running a "Discover Mechanical Engineering"
pre-Orientation program for a few years.  It apparently increased the
number of frosh who declare Course II by about 30% (from ~90 to ~120)
in its first year.  I don't have easily accessible numbers for XIII's
DOE, but they keep running it and it inspired DME, so it must be working.
