What more should judcomm have done than point out that the invitation
could be seen as being in poor taste by some people?  Should it have
done even that?  The stigma of being "investigated" is probably more
punishment than the situation warranted.

The correct response should have been for the person(s) that were
offended to write to the party organizers (or maybe the tech),
explaining their reason for being offended/annoyed/put-out.  Running
to the admins, knowing full well it might get someone in trouble is,
in my mind, insane.  Why are these people even in college?  Of course
some things that they don't want to hear are going to be said here.
Deal.  Speak up if you don't like it.
