So, assuming this goes all year, thats $120.  Ride the Suway 46 times 
(assuming you make a round trip), or the bus 60 times, and it pays for 
itself.  That's really not very much...less than once a week.

It encourages public transportation.
It pushes students to get off campus and into the city
People who live off campus (esp. in Back Bay and Beyond...Frats) don't 
have to deal with a failing SafeRide to get to class

I can see where a few people might get upset about having to pay an 
extra $10/month, but when you're already paying upwards of $43K...what's 
another hundred?
