There are many undergrads who are receiving private scholarships and
Federal Financial Aid to cover a large part of that $43k/year; I know as
an undergrad I had to work almost every term to make ends meet and
not be too much of a burden on my family. $10 may not be a lot to you,
but to some MIT students its a decent chunk of money that they'd prefer
to make a choice about.
