Please bear with me as I am still new to Kerberos and I am trying
to find out if it will help out current situation.

We have a few varied systems which each have a separate user accounts database.
This is becoming a bit unweildy as users are having to remember three or more
different passwords. We have been asked to implement password expiry,
but we can't do this on all of our systems. This causes further confusion
as password become mismatched and users tend to forget the one they haven't
used for a few days.

Anyway, down to specifics.

We have Digital Unix V3.2 and HP-UX V9.0 through 9.05
Windows NT V3.51 with mixed Windows for Work Groups, Win 95 and NT Workstation
    clients.
Oracle (Including Oracle Office and client/server applications).

This means each user now has a Unix password, NT Password and Oracle password.

Can we use Kerberos to maintain a single user accounts database for all
platforms ? I have been looking for various prodcuts to help us and
have come across the DEC product (DEC Athena I think) that will allow
us to run Kerberos on the HP and DEC Unix, Oracle have a product (Secure
Network Services ?) and I understand Microsoft is doing some work on this.

Will this give us the result we are after ? Any hints or references to
documents or products greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ian Leonard
