That's another counterargument which I've been keeping in reserve (never had a 
chance to use it yet).  For:
 
  "Cryptography protects pedophiles"
 
reply with:
 
  "Lack of cryptography makes children accessible to pedophiles"
 
Since I've never tried it, I'm not sure how it'd go down.  It's quite nice in 
that because the media has done a lot of work to drum the "Internet = 
pedophiles preying on children" message into the masses, it's quite hard to 
refute.
