Oops, I forgot that the chaff and wheat are adequately hidden by
making the chaff be the complement of the wheat and sorting
lexicographically. So the chaff code is much simpler. So much for on the
spur of the moment messages. I was not going to post anything, but I was
encouraged to speak up by a friend...
