Hi,
I'm tring to get some information on the WAKE algorithm.
Firstly, Schneier says that it is insecure against chosen plaintext
or chosen ciphertext attacks. Any pointers to info on this would
be appreciated (although for what I have in mind (encrypting swap
space), I don't think this should be an issue) - although if it is
blindingly obvious, let me know and I'll try to figure it out myself.
Is it patent free?
Is it really faster than SEAL? If so, is it still faster than seal
if the key has to be set up multiple times (given that SEAL has a
position dependant key setup feature) (and bearing in mind that I
can probably live with just reseting part of the WAKE key schedule)
Is it suitable for use as a PRNG?
Many thanks,
Gary
