Hi everyone! Someone asked about being a voting delegate, so I thought
I might share my experience as one in Dallas. It was a lot of fun and
a lot of work to put it simply. The main thing is to get a lot of sleep
before you go since you probably won't get much at the convention (the
committee I was on -Rules & Credentials- went from 9pm to 6:30am on day).
It is very exciting to be involved in the voting and to participate in
the debates, especially if the topic is controversial. It's also cool
since you can get people frmo your chapter to bring you food and stuff
while your voting (at least my chapter did....one chapter had a pizza
delivered). I guarantee you won't regret it, so just do it! =)

As for voting on amendments before the convention, I don't think it could
happen. The national by-laws specifically state that all power rests with
the convention, so no voting until then unless you can bring it up at
a board meeting.

In LFS,
Shawn  =)
