Advisors are chosen *by* chapters for assistance; it is not a mechanism to
provide extended active membership to those who are no longer students, however
excellent or forceful they may be. (See Standard Chapter Articles of
Association, Article III, Sections 5 and 7. Your chapter Bylaws should specify
your chapter's methods for accomplishing this.)
An appropriate arena for alums who wish to continue active-type involvement is
an alumni association, where they work and socialize with other alums. (An alum,
as any college or university is eager to claim, is any member who used to attend
your school. Graduation is not a prerequisite, though I hasten to add that Alpha
Phi Omega ecourages brothers most stongly to graduate!)
