Hey, Bros, I'm Home!!!
I hope everyone has had a nice summer and is ready for another year of academics and wonderful LF&S. Now there are a couple of things that I have left unfinished last semester that must be addressed.
First, the Nina Jackson trial
This is NOT to evoke controversy, but to let everyone know that it ended on June 5. Nina was found guilty and sentenced to 5 weekends in jail, full restitution to the teacher that she struck, a substancial fine (suspended) and court costs (E-mail me privately for exact monetary amounts). No appeal will take place, but the general consensus by her husband, mother, and community activist Nommo X about the whole ordeal was that it was (get this) a big POLITICAL mess. Needless to say, I left feeling like a total BLANK (play "The Match Game" with that one).
Second, the rechartering attempt @ Central State University (Iota Epsilon chapter)
The group that was interested (led by Antoneaux Clinton) had to put that matter on the back burner because CSU is in DEEP financial trouble; an $11 million deficit, 6 of the 9 campus dorms condemned, meaning students have to live in hotels in nearby Springfield and commute to campus via a one-man chartered bus service, a recently--and long overdue renovation of the campus cafeteria (Does this mean no more an overabundance of flies in the Caf while it's 20 degrees outside?), and a still possible chance of the school shutting down entirely (Fuzz, if it does shut down, you'll be the first to know; I know the deal).
Now for ME!
For those that are interested in meeting me (and giving me a slime bath for all the controversial topics I placed on the APO-L), I WILL be attending Convention '96 in Phoenix. Just look for the Denzel Washington look-alike twirling a blue & gold cane w/FINESSE! BTW, our chapter (Rho Theta, Capital U.) has elected Ben (Agamennon) Hirt, Spr. '96 as Rho Theta's voting delegate, so keep the Folger's hot for him. Now I really gotta go. C-ya later.
