I think the whole point of waiting to tell pledges what the symbols mean
is so they understand just how important the symbols are. Not until you
have been accepted for membership do you find out what the symbols mean.
If we told pledges while they are pledging, somehow they don't seem as
important. It is kind of secret, after all.
