At the Convention Awards Banquet, the winners of the Nowotny Service Award
and the Disborough Service to Scouting Award (and others) were named. The
Nowotny recognizes a well-rounded program over the previous two years,
while the Disborough focuses on service to scouting or similar youth
groups. The entries were evaluated and winners named by reference
committees of voting delegates. All the applications were very good, but in
each category one chapter stood above the rest. These two chapters provided
evidence of their outstanding service programs, and I heartily congratulate
them on their awards, but even more so, for their service:
The 1996 Nowotny Award went to Delta Theta Chapter, University of
Louisville
The 1996 Disborough Award went to Kappa Chapter, Carnegie Mellon
