It wasn't just thousands who died, Elliot. Since the Revolutionary War,
over a million Americans have died serving in uniform, for the ideals of
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That's a lot of people who
gave up life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness so that ingrates like
Ayn Rand could go around blithely spewing garbage about self-sacrifice.
It's funny that those who most insist on their freedoms are the first to
forget that (as the National Guard commercial goes) freedom isn't free.
Yet we all benefit from the gift of freedom that our forefathers died to
give us. Was their self-sacrifice morally disgraceful?? Bite your
tongue! I only wish these people could return from La-La Land long enough
to realize how silly they sound, and how lucky they really are to live
someplace where even people with stupid ideas are tolerated.

I'm really going to sleep this time  :}
